Ringing in the New Year!

My husband is part of a band, and he played a show last night, so that means I was at home with my kiddies for the evening.. Honestly, no other place I'd rather be :) My five year old son, Christian, told me he wanted to stay up all night. I wasn't too hip to the thought at first, because my baby girl still gets up at least twice a night to eat and I look forward to as much sleep as possible; BUT I figured it's only one night, and he was really excited when I told him he could stay up with me to watch the ball drop! Once we put the baby to bed, we watched a DVR'd Chronicles of Narnia, interesting movie, that was the first time I'd seen any of those. Then we played a little Monopoly :) Around 11:45 p.m., I felt like my eyes were about to cross, this is how I know I'm getting old (lol), we watched the countdown to the New Year, Christian counting down the 60 seconds, the ball drops, I give him kisses, we say HAPPY NEW YEAR!!, and he says, " so when's the ball gonna drop?" Poor guy... haha I love it! Being a Mommy is such fun, I love the things my kids say/do! Needless to say, I didn't have to ask him if he was ready for bed, he told me he was going to bed and went with no hesitation!
