I have yet to share the completion of our basement renovation! I am still in the process of adding the finishing touches to the decor! Today, however, I'm sharing a simple project we did that adds a good deal of character to the space!
One of the biggest eye sore's in our basement was the electrical box. It seemed to be in the most inappropriate spot possible, nearly in the middle of the wall. We wanted to create something to disguise it, but functional when we needed to get to it. So here's what we came up with! Pallet art on hinges!
To start, we disassembled a pallet, sanded it and stained it. Next, we stenciled "est 2006" on it with black spray paint, let dry and lightly sanded. The stain we used was Weathered Gray by Rustoleum. My husband used two industrial sized hinges since this pallet was so heavy. We also secured a magnet to the end so it would successfully close, but easily open.
In time, I intend on adding some cute little clips to display the kids artwork and easily switch it out! You can really let your creativity shine with a project like this!
