Adding a Little Bit of Stain

One of my favorite things about the warm weather is spending time outside! We are fortunate to have a deck, but we are dying to redo it, it's in desperate need! Anyways, until we have the time (and money!) to fix the deck, I've finding little ways to embrace what we already have!

The other day while I was at Jo Ann Fabrics, I found an adorable natural wood chalkboard/chicken wire board. Original ticket price was $14.99 and it was 50% off! I knew it would be the perfect little addition to outside!

Once I was home, I used a stain I already had and put two coats on and let dry. Using a piece of white chalk, I brushed it over the entire chalkboard and used my chalk pen for the writing. I attached it to my vinyl siding using waterproof 3M strips. Easy peasy!

Now I have a sweet little conversation piece that I can update anytime I want, and add special sentiments that the kids find around the yard like leaves, flowers petals, feathers etc.

Sharing this project on these lovely blogs!
