Sneak peek...

Now that the hard part of finding a house is over... Now comes making it into our dream home! Our budget wasn't huge for purchasing our first home, and we were okay with that! My husband is 26 and still going to school for his Bachelor of Science Degree in Electronic Engineering and I'm a stay-at- home Mommy :) So, we wanted to be comfortable now, so we can enjoy more in the future! We feel, seriously, beyond blessed with the home we found... It was an excellent deal and we are able to put some upgrades in it that we were looking for! Some of which, are laminate, also known as pergo, flooring. It resembles hard wood, but less expensive. It offers a swift lock system making it easy to install and very durable! We wanted something dark in color with a high gloss. Here are the two options we are choosing between.
Although, I like both colors, I'm opting for the second option which is Armstrongs Cherry. The first sample is called Cherry Bronze, also made by Armstrong. My husband has chosen the cherry bronze as his favorite, so we will see what the final decision is! We are putting the flooring throughout the entire house, NO carpet! What a dream come true..

I have been crazy about the quatrefoil design lately. I am decorating my downstairs guest bath with inspiration of a rug I bought from Target! Pictured below is my little Isabella playing peek-a-boo with it!

And Reu and I were at Hobby Lobby the other day, and found this amazing, expensive looking fabric on clearance!! It was originally $16.99 per yard and we got it for $4 per yard, what a steal! We plan on recovering our formal dining room chairs with this elegant, quatrefoil design!

And for today's last sneak peek.. My color inspiration for our kitchen and dining area. I found this beautiful rug at Marshalls Homegoods, and it was all the colors I love! I am going to use my main colors as deep red, mustard yellow and a fern green. The lighting in this picture is quite dark so you can't really see the gorgeous colors this rug offers, but believe me, it will look amazing put together!

Be sure to check back often, as we are are updating our new home! My husband is going to be building us a farm house style kitchen table with matching benches, and I will have tutorials and pictures for every project we accomplish! Hope to see you back soon :)

  1. That Hobby Lobby turns up everywhere! Sure wish we had one ... I have two of that exact ruby, but different colors. It looks like your space is going to turn out great! I'm love that you're so excited!

We also bought our first house when my husband was in Grad School. I wanted that contractor's grade carpet out immediately! We went with bamboo because we got a steal of deal on it, but what an improvement!

  3. Hi- I found your blog when i googled quatrefoil fabric. The fabric you found at Hobby Lobby looks close to what I am looking for. Is there a name of the fabric manufacturer on the salvage edge? It's probably discontinued but I'd like to search for it if possible. thanks so much!
