Meal planning

Ok, so we all know the cost of food is continually going up, what can we do about it? Meal plan!! Although you will still be paying for the cost of food, you can make the most out of it by planning your meals on a weekly or bi-weekly basis. I'm not always good sticking to a specific meal each night of the week, but what I do is, I write down a list of our favorite dishes on a sheet of paper, hang it on the fridge, obviously make sure I have all the ingredients required for each meal on hand and pick that afternoon or let my hubby or son choose! This makes it less likely for us to eat out or eat unhealthy.
This evening I went ahead and made a meal plan for the next two weeks, including these meals: Tomato soup with grilled cheese, spaghetti, grilled chicken and rice, tuna noodle casserole, homemade pizza, sloppy joes, lasagne, loaded potato soup, linguine alfredo, tacos, chili, mexican pizza, breakfast for dinner( pancakes and saugsage), and chicken enchilades. This means I have dinner ideas prepared for the next two weeks, what a relief!
Remember to have fun with this. It gives you the opportunity to stick to a grocery budget, eat healthy, family meals and try out new things!
