Here's what you're going to need:
- 1 can Great Northern white beans
- White kidney beans
- 1 can green beans
- 1 3-5 lb. ham, bone out
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 2 tablespoons minced garlic
- 1 can condensed cream of chicken
- Chicken broth
- Flour (optional)
I bought a nearly 5 pound ham at Aldi for just a few bucks, it was boneless and sliced! Place ham in the crock pot and add each can of beans including juices, don't drain! Chop up a small onion and add along with 2 tablespoons of minced garlic. Next add some chicken broth, I didn't measure, I just poured until everything was covered. Cook on high for 3-4 hours, add the can of cream of chicken and a little flour for a thicker consistency, if desired. Cook on low for another 1-2 hours. Serve with corn bread. I like to add a slice of corn bread to thicken mine up!
The combination may sound a little weird and it might not be the prettiest soup to look at, but it's full of taste and so warming after a cold day! My family loved it and I will certainly be making it again, and again ;)
